Ben 10 Beginings - Who is Ben Ten

If you're unfamiliar with the Ben 10 sci fi animated series then get ready for one of the wildest rides you'll ever encounter with a cartoon character.

His name is Benjamin 'Ben' Tennyson, your typical know-it-all boy who gets into one knuckleheaded problem after another. He's an arrogant, smart ass, practical joker who is more trouble than he's worth at times. All in all he's your typical kid who needs some focus. With all his faults he's also a sharp kid with good wit and his own quirky resourcefulness that gets him out of jams. When he finds and alien device that looks like a wristwatch his troubles really start. This alien device is called the Omnitrix which allows Ben to change into other space alien body types. This device was designed so that understanding of other alien races could then bring about universal peace. He finds the device in a forest after it lands in a meteorite. Ben can't get the Omnitrix off his arm as it becomes attached to him permanently like it's his destiny to wear it. He can then utilize various super abilities and powers. This accelerates his maturity and transforms him gradually into what a hero he should be.

Along with Ben and his adventures are his family, friends and unfortunately his enemies. He's got a sister named Gwendolyn aka Gwen Tennyson. She's an uppity one but that's just that girl thing she has. She's got the powers of magic from her alien grandmother and she is no joke when it comes to using her powers and abilities.

There's Ben's grandfather named Grandpa Maxwell Tennyson aka Max. Max's past is a jumble of confusion and conflicts with his old pal Donovan Grand Smith. Max it turns out is a working man's man who at one time was to be one of the astronauts on the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. He chose to withdraw from the program.

From here you find Ben 10 in all sorts of adventures that span several movies and TV series where he battles mad scientists, alien warlords, monsters, magical weirdness and more. With his Omnitrix he takes on villain after villain and also learns what it means to be a person with super abilities and the responsibility that comes with it.

Now a little about the Omnitrix and what it does to make Ben the alien powered warrior he is. The Omnitrix which looks like a watch which is permanently attached to Ben's wrist was invented by a being named Azmuth who is from a race of beings called Galvans. The device is quite powerful showing up in different forms to others viewpoints. It has activation from codes and controls that allows the user to turn into other alien forms and can do so remain indefinitely. This device has all sorts of amazing abilities in itself and its full potential is never revealed to the fans. It's smart, has its own artificial intelligence and more. You just never know what's going to happen when this device goes off and considering it was originally designed for Ben's grandfather Max. It got lost in the forest and Ben found it but his DNA was enough where the device's DNA detector thought Ben was Max and the rest is history.
